During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, in Linghu Town, Gui'an County, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, there was a bowl seller named Li. When Li was twenty-six years old, he married a wife, Zhang Shi, who was slim and very beautiful. Moreover, she was a thrifty and efficient housekeeper, and her neighbors envied Li as a lucky person.
One day, Mrs. Zhang said to Li, "Langjun, you are a small business selling bowls every day. It is very hard in the wind and sun, but you can only maintain food and clothing, and you will not be able to make a fortune for a lifetime. It is not a long-term plan. If you are willing to believe in your wife, I promise to make you rich."
Li felt that what his wife said was very reasonable, so he stopped selling bowls and started a business that sold cheap and expensive. Ten years later, Li, who was in good business, became a millionaire.
Zhang gave birth to two sons for Li, both of whom were very intelligent. Li set up a private school at home and found a teacher to tutor his two sons in their studies.
Li was grateful to his wife and felt that it was her who made him, and she was obedient and respectful to her. Zhang's everything was good, but every day at the Dragon Boat Festival, he would lock himself in the room and no one was allowed to enter the room.
Li never noticed his wife's situation. When Li's eldest son was nine years old, he came to his mother's room for the Dragon Boat Festival and found that his mother had disappeared, but there was a big cyan snake coiled on the bed.
Li's son was so scared that he screamed and fled in a hurry. When he ran to the door, he looked back and saw that his mother was lying on the bed, and the big green snake was gone.
Li's son told the teacher about it. The teacher had a bad heart and was jealous of Li's rich and beautiful wife and lovely son, so he said to Li: "Your wife must be a snake spirit. If you don't ask the Taoist priest to drive her away quickly, she will definitely be killed."
Li was skeptical. After learning that Mr. Teach had instigated his relationship with her husband, Zhang Shi scolded Mr. Teach in person and said, "What does my family's family affairs have to do with you, sir Why do you want to separate our husband and wife?"
That night, Zhang Shi disappeared and never came back. After Zhang Shi left, Li's business got worse and worse, and no one at home was cleaning up. He regretted that he had believed in Mr Teach's instigation and lost his wife, so he drove Mr Teach away, but it was too late.
