There was a rich man in Qingping Town, named Wang Dafu, who had a lot of wealth and was usually kind and generous, but there was only one thing that people couldn't understand. There was an old monk who came to the door to change his fortune. Wang Dafu did not give a penny, and even scolded him. Why is this? Twenty years ago, Wang Dafu said that he should starve to death, and he almost sought death, but he did not expect that there would be good fortune today, so he thought that Taoist monks were all liars.
There is a Huangjue Temple in Qingping Town, which has been in disrepair for a long time, and heavy rain has drenched the hall. The abbot of the temple, Li Wenyuan, said to the monks, "Wait until I go out to transform the fate into silver, and rebuild the hall to rebuild the golden body." Li Wenyuan walked to the door of the rich man Wang: "Amitabha Buddha, the poor monk transforms the fate." After the housekeeper came out, he said, "Master, I advise you to leave quickly. I guess you will be scolded again when the master comes. If you want to transform the fasting rice, there is a porridge shed we set up in front of you." Li Wenyuan shook his head: "The poor monk does not transform the fasting rice, but the poor monk needs to transform the silver." The housekeeper said to himself that this is a crazy monk and ignored it.
Li Wenyuan smiled, took out a pen from his arms, and wrote a few lines on the wall of Wang's rich man's house:
The fortune-teller faces fate, and the river saves the fallen water master.
In the middle of the night, there was a golden light in the house, which was steep but rich.
When the butler saw the monk scribbling on the wall of the courtyard, he yelled loudly, "Why are you crazy monk like this?" Wang Dafu was drinking tea in the backyard, and when he heard the noise at the door, he walked out to check. Seeing the butler shouting at a monk, when he turned around and saw the poem on the wall, Wang Dafu was shocked. The butler said to Wang Dafu, "Master, what nonsense is this crazy monk writing on the wall?" Before the butler could finish speaking, Wang Dafu quickly bowed to the monk and said, "Holy monk, please come inside." The butler was confused and had to follow in.
Wang Dafu invited the monk to the table and made tea for him.
If Wang Dafu had beaten and scolded the monk before, why was he so respectful to monk Li Wenyuan? Because a few of Li Wenyuan's poems revealed the origin of Wang Dafu, and this origin was only known to Wang Dafu himself. And the monk in front of him made it clear that he was definitely not a mortal, so please come and see what you can teach him.
It turned out that Wang Dafu was not a rich family. His parents had died, and he was poor. When he walked to the intersection of the street and met an old Taoist, he wanted to calculate his future. The old Taoist just waved his hand, but the old Taoist was never a dead person. Wang Dafu thought that the old Taoist was afraid that he would not have the money to pay the hexagram, so he took out a copper coin from his pocket: "Please calculate a hexagram for me, and see how my future is?" The old Taoist shook out a signature, placed the signature, and looked at Wang Dafu's face and turned black, and then handed the copper coin to Wang Dafu: "To be honest, from the hexagram and appearance, Your Excellency should starve to death, and you should keep this copper coin to eat more." Wang Dafu bowed his hands to the old Taoist and left angrily.
Wang Dafu did have a copper coin in his pocket, but he was penniless. It seemed that he was really going to starve to death on the street, so he wandered aimlessly on the street. It was dark at night, and he walked unknowingly to the moat outside the city. Just as he was about to jump into the river and end it, he suddenly saw a figure floating in the water, and vaguely heard an old man calling for help. Wang Dafu was kind-natured, and he didn't have time to jump into the river to save the old man, but he saw the old man dying. Wang Dafu saw a Temple of Wealth nearby, so he carried the old man to the Temple of Wealth. While helping the old man remove his wet clothes, Wang Dafu found that there were two gold ingots in the old man's pocket. Wang Dafu originally wanted to take the gold away while the old man was unconscious, but he thought the old man might have brought so much silver because of something at home. Besides, the old man was unconscious now, and his family should be very anxious. He was the one who should have starved to death, so why should he drag others down? Wang Dafu used his only copper coin to go to the street store to buy some hot soup and make some fire in the temple, and the old man gradually woke up.
Seeing the old man wake up, Wang Dafu hurriedly asked, "Dare to ask where the old man lives, Xiaosheng will send you home." The old man chuckled and said, "This is my home, thank you for saving your life, and you will definitely be thanked in the future." Wang Dafu thought the old man was a fugitive staying in the temple, so he said, "Then you have a good rest here, and I will go first." Wang Dafu returned to his house, hungry, thinking that he was going to starve to death soon, so he turned over and over in bed. At the third watch of the night, Wang Dafu suddenly found that the whole house was resplendent, and golden lights shot out from the cracks in the floor beneath the bed. Wang Dafu took a shovel to open the floor, and only saw several large boxes of gold and silver jewelry shining below. From then on, people only knew that Wang Dafu was rich, but they didn't know why. Wang Dafu was also happy in his heart, but he hated the Taoist priest to death and almost believed his evil words. If he had jumped into the river to die, how could he have been so rich and prosperous? So when he met the Taoist monk Wang Dafu later, he only said that they were liars.
The old abbot Li Wenyuan said, "Patron Wang, that old hexagram didn't go wrong. You should have starved to death. But your good deeds have changed your life character, and the five elements are regardless of great good and great evil. Do you know who the old man you saved that day was?" Wang Dafu shook his head in confusion: "Isn't it an old man who escaped from famine?" Li Wenyuan laughed and said, "That's not an old man who escaped from famine, that's the God of Wealth Zhao Gongming. That day, the God of Wealth was drunk when he walked to the moat at the entrance of the temple and accidentally fell into the water. Although he is an immortal, he is a clay Buddha statue in the world, and the two gold ingots are his body protection gold. You saved him and were not moved by money. So I gave you three boxes of jewelry under your bed. If it wasn't for you accumulating virtue and doing good deeds, there would be no such good fortune. "
After Wang Dafu heard the ins and outs of the matter, he was filled with emotion and chatted with Li Wenyuan for a night, giving away 10,000 taels of silver to rebuild the hall and rebuild the golden body. From then on, he did one good deed every day, accumulated good deeds, supported monks, inherited family business, and descendants Kangtai.
This story tells us: But do good deeds, don't ask about your future.
