Mufa Temple is in Jiangxi, formerly known as Luohan Temple. When it was established, it was presided over by Zen Master Wen. Since then, the black snake has come every day to get along harmoniously with the monks, but there are pilgrims entering the temple, and the snake avoids it. Outsiders do not know

The black snake has been practising in Luohan Temple for more than ten years, and its length has reached two or three meters. It is as large as a hall pillar. He meets monks, never hates each other, and is docile like a cat and dog in the family. He asked the Zen master to cherish it. At the end of the year, Zhang Lingxiao led the crowd to rebel in Jiangxi. After three years, the rebels burned and looted ten rooms and nine empty rooms. There was a small group of rebels who walked in front of the gate of Luohan Temple and were blocked by the black snake. Thousands of bandits were afraid, and no one dared pass by, so they retreated to find another way. However, there were few pilgrims, no one in the market, and the roads were blocked. The candle oil in the temple could not be purchased. There was no light in the night, and the last oil lamp in front of the Buddha statue went out, and it was still impossible to

After asking the Zen master, he often sighed because of this, and the monks asked him, and he said that the Buddha statue was eclipsed in the darkness, and the scriptures could not guide you and me in the darkness. How can they not be sad? After the black snake found out, he took off his right eye and hung it in the Buddhist hall, and took his left eye and hung it in the Tibetan scripture building. The snake's eyes are very bright at night, and the light is no different from that of the day. After donating his eyes, the black swam to the outside of the temple gate and turned into a disk. After asking, he cried and told the monks that he would not enter the Buddhist gate until he died, but was afraid that his alien body would pollute this holy place. What's wrong with calling it Bodhisattva?

After asking the Zen master, the black snake was buried in the temple, and the temple was renamed Mufa. The snake's eyes were always in the temple. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the snake's eyes suddenly disappeared and disappeared, and their whereabouts became a mystery.
