Zhu Yunchan, the eldest grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang, ascended the throne in 1399 and is known as Emperor Jianwen in history.

In 1402, the fourth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, King Yan Zhu Di launched the change of Jingnan and ascended the throne, known as Emperor Chengzu of Ming.

When the city of Nanjing was destroyed, some people said that Emperor Jianwen was burned to death in a fire, and some people said that Emperor Jianwen fled Nanjing and traveled around.

One of the most widely circulated claims is that after Emperor Jianwen fled, he became a monk for 39 years and lived in seclusion at Yingtian Temple in Nanshan, Hengxian County, Guangxi for 15 years.

That year, when he learned of the fall of Nanjing, Emperor Jianwen sighed and wanted to commit suicide to thank the people. Cheng Ji, editor of Hanlin Academy, said: "Heaven has gone, but the year of heaven has not ended; although the country is lost, society has not died. If Your Majesty cuts his hair and goes away, there may be a way to live."

At this time, the palace person beside him also held a small wooden box left by Zhu Yuanzhang and said to Emperor Jianwen: "The late emperor has a word, open it when you encounter a crisis."

Emperor Jianwen opened the wooden box and saw a razor and an ultimatum inside. He knew it was destiny and cried bitterly.

Emperor Jianwen took advantage of the chaos to escape Nanjing, cut his hair as a monk, and traveled to Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Fujian, Guangdong and other places. Finally, he entered Guangxi and lived in seclusion at Yingtian Temple (also called Shoufo Temple) in Hengxian County.

Before he knew it, Emperor Jianwen had been in exile for 39 years, and he was almost ancient. The people who accompanied him back then were old and dead. The old emperor had the idea of burying the bones next to his ancestors after his death.

At that time, Zhu Di had died, and Zhu Di's son and grandson were both short-lived emperors.

The governor of Hengzhou (now Hengxian County) was close at hand, but Emperor Jianwen could not inform the imperial court. Because according to the rules of the Ming Dynasty, only officials above the fourth rank were qualified to report directly to the emperor, while Hengzhou was only the sixth rank, so Emperor Jianwen had to think of another way.

One night, Emperor Jianwen had a dream. In the dream, Zhu Yuanzhang said, "Child, you should quit your monks and return to the secular world at the end of your ordeal.

When Emperor Jianwen woke up, he remembered the wooden box that his grandfather used to save his life. He really disguised himself as a merchant and took a boat up the Yu River.

A few days later, the ship came to a place called Sien. This is a land state. After Emperor Jianwen learned of this, he was extremely excited.

"Could it be that my noble is here? but the sea of people is vast, who is it?"

At that time, the governor of Sien Tuzhou was by the Youjiang Guohua River (now Pingguo City Ancient Town). According to the rules of that time, the governor of Tuzhou could play directly on the imperial court. After Emperor Jianwen took refuge in a local temple, he asked people about the whereabouts of Cen Ying, the governor of Sien Tuzhou.

Cen Ying was upright, honest and reliable, and Emperor Jianwen even believed that he was the noble person of Emperor Grandpa's dream.

One day, when Cen Ying was traveling in a sedan, a monk blocked the way and did not shy away.

Seeing this, the follower stepped forward to scold, and the monk was not afraid, and even took out a piece of paper to present to Cen Ying.

Cen Ying got off the palanquin, took the paper book and read it carefully, only to see that it was a poem:

Falling into rivers and lakes for forty autumns,

When I came back, I didn't feel the snow on my head.

There is hatred in the universe, where the home is.

Jianghan ruthless water flow.

The clouds and shadows in the Changle Palace are dark,

The sound of rain in Zhaoyang Hall is melancholy.

The willows in the new bushes are green every year.

Old Ye swallowed and cried.

Cen Ying hurriedly asked the monk what his surname was.

The monk, who calls himself Emperor Jianwen, has been away from Nanjing for nearly 40 years, longing to return home and bury his bones after his death.

Cen Ying was shocked, life left and right to be kind to Emperor Jianwen, and then quickly reported to Guangxi patrolling imperial history, and directly played Ming Yingzong.

Soon, the imperial court returned to the decree, and the post stations escorted Emperor Jianwen back to Beijing, calling him Old Buddha along the way.

Due to the service of escorting Emperor Jianwen, Ming Yingzong ordered the promotion of Sien Prefecture to Sien Mansion and Cen Ying to prefect.
