Jin Dynasty age, Caizhou Fuqiang County Gangu Fort, there is a scholar named Dou Zhiyuan, he opened a private school in Gangu Fort to teach nearby students to support their families.
Dou Zhiyuan was a bold and open-minded person, not as timid as ordinary readers. Once, he came home from a private school and passed by a deserted ancient temple. There was an ancient tomb near the ancient temple, covered with lush grass.
Dou Zhiyuan often passed by here, and nothing special had ever happened. This time, he suddenly heard a lot of people talking and laughing from the old temple site.
He walked to a high place and looked inside the ancient temple, and found that there were more than a dozen people inside, dressed like ancient princes, who were pushing cups and changing lamps together, and it was very lively.
Dou Zhiyuan shouted, "Who are you?" As soon as he finished speaking, a dozen or so people disappeared. Dou Zhiyuan walked over and saw a few cups and plates left on the ground, all made of white horns; there was also an ancient book next to it, and Dou Zhiyuan took these cups, plates and ancient books back.
After returning home, Dou Zhiyuan opened the ancient book and flipped through it, and found that it recorded all Taoist divine arts spells, such as sprinkling beans into soldiers, escaping armor in a strange door, and subjugating dragons and tigers.
Dou Zhiyuan was overjoyed and said to himself, "This is God's pity on me and let me learn such divine arts, otherwise I will teach for a lifetime, what will I do?"
From then on, he studied old books hard in his spare time, and couldn't even put them down when he ate. After a year, he had learned all the spells above without a teacher, and the speed of his entry could be described as a thousand miles a day.
After completing his studies, Dou Zhiyuan was able to call clouds and summon rain. If he wanted something, he could immediately bring that thing in front of him. In addition, he was also good at divination feng shui.
In June of the fourth year, there was a severe drought in the area of Caizhou. People from Gangu Fort came to ask Dou Zhiyuan when it would rain to relieve the drought. Dou Zhiyuan said, "It will rain heavily tomorrow." The villagers were skeptical.
The next day, people looked up and saw that there were no clouds in the sky, and the scorching sun was in the sky. Fathers, elders and villagers went to Dou Zhiyuan's house together and complained that Dou Zhiyuan was talking nonsense. Dou Zhiyuan smiled and said, "You go back first, it will rain in a while."
Everyone had no choice but to leave. After everyone had gone, Dou Zhiyuan came to the well in the vegetable garden behind the house, took a hemp rope and soaked it in the water, then gritted his teeth and threw the rope into the air.
I saw the hemp rope turn into a dragon in the air, and then there was a rumbling thunder. After a while, it really started pouring rain.
However, the rain only covered a radius of 20 miles, which happened to be within the range of Gangu Fort. After the heavy rain, the crops were nourished and began to thrive again.
Only then did everyone admire Dou Zhiyuan's ability and call him immortal. However, Dou Zhiyuan was also targeted by a rascal at this time. It turned out that when Dou Zhiyuan was throwing ropes in the backyard, he was seen by his neighbor Wang. Wang was a bully who bullied men and women.
After understanding the situation, the Prefect of Caizhou ordered someone to untie Dou Zhiyuan. He comforted Dou Zhiyuan with kind words and said, "Tell me yourself, what is the situation?"
Dou Zhiyuan did not panic at all, and replied neither humbly nor overbearing: "My lord, I, Dou Zhiyuan, am just a poor scholar, what bad things can I do? Most of what I have learned are blindfolds and illusions."
The Prefect of Cai Zhou said, "It's not that I don't believe you, I just want you to show your hand and open everyone's eyes." Dou Zhiyuan was helpless and had to agree. He took off the satin belt around his waist, threw it on the ground, and then shouted at the belt. The soft belt immediately stood up like a snake, raised its head, and circled around everyone.
When the prefect and the others saw this, they were dumbfounded. At this time, Dou Zhiyuan took off another black silk sash, placed it flat on the ground, and then shouted, "Get up!" The black silk sash suddenly turned into a black python as thick as a bucket.
The yamen nearby were so scared that they fled in all directions. Dou Zhiyuan comforted them and said, "Don't be afraid, it won't hurt you." The python circled the hall, and its scales had already been born, and then a thunderbolt exploded, and the python turned into a black dragon.
Dou Zhiyuan walked in front of the black dragon, raised his legs and stepped on the dragon's back, and the black dragon immediately flew into the air. Dou Zhiyuan bowed his head in the air and said to the prefect of Cai Zhou, "Sir, let's say goodbye." From then on, no one saw Dou Zhiyuan again.
