The Taoist priest opened a cowhide bag and took out two volumes of books from it. The first volume was about exorcising foxes, and the second volume was about exorcising ghosts. The Taoist priest gave the second volume to Cai Jinglun and said to him, "If you have the second volume, you will have food, clothing and wife." Cai Jinglun asked the Taoist priest his name. The Taoist told Cai Jinglun that he was Wu Daoyuan from Mount Longhu. The Taoist priest lived in Cai Jinglun's house for half a month and taught him the secrets of exorcising ghosts every day.

From then on, Cai Jinglun was skilled in exorcism talismans and became famous. People came to ask him to cast spells in an endless stream, and he also made a lot of money as a result.

One day, a white-haired old man came, carrying a generous gift, claiming that his surname was Hu. Cai Jinglun walked out of the boudoir and asked his father about his illness. The old man said: "Every day in the evening, a young man would come and sleep with my daughter. When we went to catch him, he disappeared. After a while, he came again without realizing it. I guess he must be a ghost, and my daughter was fascinated by ghosts." Cai Jinglun said: "If it is a ghost, it is not difficult to catch him. I am afraid that he is a fox spirit, and it will be a little difficult."
