A moment of joy and a moment of sadness, I think of a thousand things that are not right. If you want a thousand things, you can relieve your worries from your worries.

This poem is a riddle, and the answer to its riddle is "guessing." According to legend, there was such an activity as guessing more than 2,000 years ago. So, why did guessing become a lantern riddle again? Here's another story!

It is said that very early on, there was a rich man surnamed Hu, who had a lot of money and ran amok in the countryside. He watched people and did things, but he didn't smile. People called him the "Smiling Tiger." As long as this smiling tiger saw people who were better dressed than himself, he would stroke his beard like a mouse - fawning desperately; to the poor in rough clothes, he was like a hungry dog gnawing at bones - eager to chew out oil.

That year, the Spring Festival was approaching, and two people came one after the other in front of the Hu family. The person in front was called Li Cai, and the one behind was called Wang Shao. Li Cai was neatly dressed and gorgeous, and Wang Shao was dressed in tattered clothes. When the servants saw Li Cai, they hurried back to the room to report, and the smiling tiger hurriedly welcomed the door. When they saw the gorgeous clothes and hats of the visitors, they smiled respectfully and gave in. Li Cai said he wanted to "borrow ten taels of silver," and the smiling tiger hurriedly took the silver taels. Li Cai took the silver taels and left. Before the smiling tiger could come to his senses, Wang Shao hurriedly stepped forward and shouted, "Master, let me borrow some food." The smiling tiger glanced at him, and when he saw that it was Wang Shao in tattered clothes, he cursed furiously: "You kid, get out of here!" Before Wang Shao could argue, he was kicked out of the door by the servants.

On the way home, the more Wang Shao thought about it, the more angry he became. He suddenly had a plan and decided to fight this smiling tiger.

In the blink of an eye, the Spring Festival has passed, and the Lantern Festival is approaching. Every household is busy making lanterns, and Young Master Wang has been busy for a day. On the evening of the Lantern Festival, every household hangs all kinds of lanterns in front of the street houses, and Young Master Wang also puts out a lantern and goes to the street. I see that the lantern is big and bright, and what is more special is that there is a poem inscribed on it. Young Master Wang came to the door of the Smiling Tiger and picked up the lantern high, attracting many people to look around. The Smiling Tiger was watching the lantern in front of the door. As soon as he saw this scene, he was busy squeezing into the lantern. Seeing that there were four poems inscribed on the lantern, he could not fully recognize it and couldn't read it, so he ordered the accountant behind him to read it to him. The accountant shook his head and read:

The tip of the head and body are as white as silver, and there is no point in the scale. The eyes grow to the buttocks, and the clothes alone do not recognize people.

When Smiling Tiger heard this, his face turned red with anger, his eyes widened with anger, and he was loyal: "Good boy, dare to scold the master!" Shouting, he ordered the servants to grab the flower lamp. Young Master Wang hurriedly picked up the flower lamp and said with a smile, "Master, why did you scold you?" Smiling Tiger said angrily, "What is written on your lamp?" Young Master Wang read it aloud again. Smiling Tiger said bitterly, "Isn't that scolding me?" Young Master Wang still said with a smile: "Oh, the master is guilty of suspicion. These four lines of my poem are a mystery. The answer to the mystery is 'needle '; think about it, don't you?" Smiling Tiger thought, " No way! He was so angry that he stared at him and said nothing. He turned around and slipped up in embarrassment. When the people around them saw it, they laughed happily.

This matter spread further and further. In the second year of the Lantern Festival, many people wrote riddles on the lanterns for the people watching the lanterns to guess and have fun, so it was called "lantern riddles." In the future, they became accustomed to each other, and every Lantern Festival, lantern riddles were held in various places, which have been passed down to the present.
