During the reign of Renzong in the Northern Song Dynasty, the imperial court planned to build a tower in the eastern suburbs of Beijing (Kaifeng), named Kaibao Temple Pagoda. Pre-Hao was the most famous craftsman at that time, so the imperial court asked him to design and build the Kaibao Temple Pagoda.

After receiving the order, he first went to the scene to observe, and then designed a construction map and organized the craftsmen to carry out the construction.

During the foundation construction, some careful craftsmen found that there was a problem with the foundation design, that is, the foundation in the northwest direction was obviously lower than the foundation in the northeast direction. The craftsmen thought that this was an accidental mistake in the design of Pre-Hao, so they reminded Pre-Hao that the foundation was uneven and one side was low. Pre-Hao did not explain, but just told the craftsmen to continue to build according to the original design.

When the tower was half built, the craftsmen found that the tower had a clear tilt, tilting to the northwest, so they reminded Pre-Hao again, and Pre-Hao still told them to continue to build according to the original design. Later, the whole tower was completed, beautiful, intricately carved, as if it were cast, and its momentum was amazing. But it was clearly tilted to the northwest, so many people talked about it, saying that although the tower looked beautiful, it would not be long before it fell.

This matter later spread to Song Renzong's ears, and Emperor Renzong sent a minister to check it out. The minister came back and reported that, as the people had said, the Kaibao Temple tower was crooked, and it might not take too long to be poured out. He suggested that Renzong arrest Pre-Hao and charge him.

Among the emperors of the Song Dynasty, Renzong was always known for his kindness and generosity. He did not listen rashly to the minister's opinion, but asked Qianhao to come and ask him in person. Qianhao explained: "The terrain of the capital is flat, there are no mountains, and the northwest wind often blows. If this tower is designed according to the old method, it will not take many years, and it will be tilted by the wind, so there is a danger of falling over. The current design can prevent accidents from happening, and the wind will blow it for nearly a hundred years, and it will be right." After hearing this, Renzong was very happy, praised Qianhao and said: "Qing's move is really responsible for the future!" And rewarded him with some gold and silver satin.

More than a hundred years later, people found that the originally tilted Kaibao Temple Pagoda was indeed correct, and by then Jihao had already passed away many years ago. People were moved by his far-sightedness and were in awe at his spirit of responsibility for the future.
