Once upon a time there was a strange beggar who did not ask for gold and silver treasures, nor did he ask for clothes and pants. He specialized in stealing chickens from rich families to eat.
When it comes to stealing chickens, his methods are quite clever. He picked the lanterns for the oil lamp into the size of rice grains, put them in his mouth, and spit them into the flock of chickens. When the chickens saw these white lanterns, they thought they were white rice! They ate it "tuk tuk tuk." When the chicken ate vigorously, he gently moved his hand from the back of the chicken to the back of the chicken and stood the chicken up. The chicken ate the lanterns, choked on his throat, and couldn't bark, so he stole the chicken without realizing it.
There was a rich man in Li Zhuang who was hated by the common people, and beggars kept stealing chickens from the rich man's house in Li Zhuang. This time he touched Li Zhuang again and was about to go to the rich man's house to steal chickens. He circled the front and back of the rich man's house, but did not see a single chicken. He turned to the backyard wall again, and suddenly heard a chirping of chickens inside, so he climbed up the wall gently and saw dozens of fat chickens in the garden. I thought to myself, the dog rich man is so slippery, it turns out he kept chickens in the backyard, which made me have a hard time finding them. He took out the lantern rice grains and put them in his mouth. When the lantern rice grains were wet, he spat at the chickens with a "snap." The fat chicken pounced on the lantern rice grains, lowered its head and tilted its tail, and ate it "tuk tuk tuk". Just as the chickens were eating happily, he took out a rope with a flexible sheath and put it on the neck of a fat old hen. The sheath was not biased or crooked, and it was on neck of the old hen. He pulled the rope lightly and tied it tightly on the neck of the chicken. Just as he was about to pull the rope to pull the chicken, he suddenly heard a "whoosh" sound behind him, and a stick hit the head. His legs went soft and he fell to the ground from the fence. It turned out that the rich dog man had been on guard for a long time. The rich man's servants pushed and dragged the beggar into the compound, and he was beaten with a bunch of sticks, beating his skin and blood. The rich dog stood by the side and scolded: "You thief, you stole ten chickens from me, and today you will spit out your hair and bones." The rich man scolded happily, so he asked the servants to lock him in the cowhouse and prepare to send him to the official tomorrow.
In the middle of the night, the chicken-stealing beggar was locked up in the cow house, so sad that he thought he would suffer if he was sent to the official tomorrow. Suddenly, he heard a "babble" and the door of the cowhouse opened, and it turned out to be the long-term worker of the rich man's house. As soon as the long-term worker entered the cow house, he said softly, "I saw that you were beaten very badly by the rich man's servants during the day, and just now I heard that you will be sent to the official tomorrow, so I secretly came to let you go, so hurry up and escape." The chicken-stealing beggar saw the face of the long-term worker clearly through the moonlight and said, "Thank you for saving my life, big brother." He turned his head and left.
It was already a few months in the blink of an eye. Changgong was kicked out by the rich man because he released the chicken-stealing beggar. One day, he wanted to go out to find work, but when he walked to a barren hillside, suddenly a person jumped out of the small trees, shouted his benefactor, and pulled Changgong away. Changgong fixed his eyes and saw that this person was the chicken-stealing beggar who had been beaten by the rich man that day. The chicken-stealing beggar pulled Changgong into the small bushes, and then took out something wrapped in mud from a pile of fire next to him. I saw him gently beat the mud-wrapped thing to the ground a few times, revealing a hot-branded and fragrant chicken inside. He tore off a piece of chicken leg and gave it to Changgong: "Eat it, this chicken is tender and delicious, and the chickens I stole are eaten like this." Changgong was not polite, and the two sat in the small bushes and ate. While eating, it was quite speculative to talk. The beggar who stole the chicken asked Changgong why he was living in another country, and Changgong told him the cause and effect. The beggar who stole the chicken was also very sad to learn that Changgong was driven away by the rich man to save himself. Changgong ate the fragrant chicken and felt that it had a different flavor. He thought that if he could open a small shop and sell this kind of chicken, he might have a lot of customers! He told the beggar who stole the chicken his idea, and again persuaded him: "It's not good to live by stealing chickens all the time!" Listening to the chicken-stealing beggar, he also felt that it was quite reasonable. The two discussed opening a store in the small bush.
In a few days, the two of them borrowed more than ten taels of silver and opened a small hotel. The wine and food were mud-wrapped chicken, and there were indeed many customers, and the business was getting bigger and bigger, but the people knew the origin of the chicken-stealing beggar.
Later, the beggars and long-term workers who stole the chicken felt that the people liked the name, and the business was good anyway, so they simply went along with the customers and called the mud-wrapped chicken Hua Chicken. As a result, the Beggar Chicken became famous, and until now people are used to calling this kind of chicken Hua Chicken.
